Ashruta Acharya
PhD Fellow at Mercatus Center & Founder at Society of Nepali Women in Economics
Ashruta Acharya is a first-year PhD student in the Department of Economics and a PhD Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. She earned her BBA and MA degrees in Economics from Wichita State University where she also worked for the Institute for the Study of Economic Growth. Acharya is also the founding President of the Society of Nepali Women in Economics. Her research interests include institutions and development and financial economics.
Ashruta was a Graduate Research Assistant and Assisted Professors and Researchers in research work by extracting and cleaning data, analyzing data and information, and preparing visuals for analysis, conducted research analysis with Eviews and Excel on macroeconomic topics, and supported administrative and logistical tasks at ISEG.
