You are invited to the Opening Ceremony of Wichita State University Behavioral Economics Laboratory. Our special guest of honor will be Dr. Vernon Smith!
Vernon Smith won the 2002 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his contributions to behavioral economics and his work in the field of experimental economics. He was born in Wichita, Kansas.
Vernon laid the foundation for the field of experimental economics. He has developed an array of experimental methods, setting standards for what constitutes a reliable laboratory experiment in economics.

ABOUT BEHAVIORAL ECONOMICS
Behavioral Economics has developed into one of the most productive and empirically relevant research fields in Economics since the mid-1990s. Behavioral economic experiments involve real people who make serious decisions in response to incentives. Experimental methods can be applied to analyze and validate theories in all fields of economics and beyond. The experimental method also lends itself to interdisciplinary work between economics and, among others, political scientists, marketers, psychologists, sociologists, biologists and mathematicians.
